NPR Spotlights Legal System in Afghanistan
After the Taliban lost control of Afghanistan in 2003, its justice system needed to be rebuilt from the ground up. While most post-war resources were being devoted elsewhere, the legal system improved – but only barely. Still, Abdul Saboor Hashimi, the chief judge of the Sangcharak district of Sari Pul province says he is optimistic, but that corruption is still very large problem.
