Dakota Disc was one of the original legal research platforms that paved the way for today’s services. The Disc was founded in 1995 by former South Dakota Supreme Court Justice Larry Zastrow and his wife, Anita Zastrow along with former Executive Director Thomas Barnett. They were visionaries in the South Dakota Bar, foreseeing the increasing use of computers and automation as a tool for modern attorneys. The ability to access, share, and manipulate data directly from an electronic source was truly groundbreaking for its time. Fastcase began providing updates for Dakota Disc in 1996 and remains committed to providing this affordable, easy to use, tool for lawyers practicing in South Dakota for years to come.
Winner of the prestigious American Association of Law Libraries (New Product) Award, Fastcase for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone is used by more attorneys than any other legal app according to the ABA. Anyone may use the app for free to access Fastcase's comprehensive legal research database on the go.
